Contestants

Antonio Aguilar (Eliminated 10-19)
Bank teller by day, stand-up comedian by night, Antonio has been entertaining Madison audiences from the comedy stage for over a year. Originally from Green Bay, Antonio hopes to milk every minute of stage time out of the competition in order to progress as an entertainer and, maybe one day, make a living by performing.

Sarah Anacker (Eliminated 11-10)
Born and raised in Madison, Sarah works for the Wisconsin Youth Company, and is right at home on the stage. Inspired by the glory of the Summer Olympics, Sarah will use her superhuman ability to keep a secret and undeniable likeability to try and win a spot in Atlas Improv Company. She plays tonight for her friends Karin and Claire, and for her mother, sister, and niece, all of whom have been immense inspiration for her to be a better person in her life.

Evan Dusenberry Winner!
A recent graduate of Carleton College, Evan comes to us from Atlantic, Iowa. Evan gets a thrill from performing improv and dreams of producing a body of artistic achievements on which he could reflect at the time of his dying and be proud. A self-described “pretty good dancer,” Evan is allowing his competitive streak to surface in preparation for The Cut.

Marty Gross (Eliminated 10-12)
Marty is originally from Brookfield, Illinois. He describes himself as a lover of English, the outdoors, and music, but admits to being a bit clumsy. He also enjoys making ruckuses and being on stage creatively collaborating with fellow improvisers. He wants to win The Cut to show the improv world who is boss. He hopes to knock everyone’s socks off in the process.

Alex Pelan (Eliminated 10-26)
Originally from South Windsor, Connecticut, Alex comes to our stage from the hallowed walls of Epic software development. Alex uses improv to let off steam and feed his addiction for making people laugh. Due to its lack of athletic requirement, Alex believes that he’s got a fighting chance to win The Cut, and that maybe that win will put him on the path to becoming the next Mark Zuckerberg.

Emily Ruff  (Eliminated 11-10)
Emily is a Physical Chemistry PhD candidate at the UW-Madison. When she is not staring down bacteria, Emily enjoys Frisbee, yoga, and playing the flute. Emily is from St. Paul, Minnesota, and takes the stage tonight seeking honor and glory for herself and her family, especially her two brothers. Just like Mulan.

Rachel Seurer (Eliminated 10-5)
Rachel is a local Madisonian, and is currently majoring in Rehabilitation Psychology at the UW. In addition to improv, Rachel enjoys reading and running, and teaches yoga at the Kaivalya studio in town. Rachel was a competitive figure skater for 12 years, and feels that her complete lack of social decorum will give her the edge in winning The Cut.

Ted Timothy (Eliminated 11-2)
Ted is a biochemist from Indianapolis, Indiana. He also works part time at a climbing gym, where he flexes his performance muscles hosting kid’s parties. Ted is willing to go along with anything on stage, even so far as becoming a robot cowboy. Ted intends to win The Cut to perform alongside professional improvisers and to express his love for his supportive girlfriend, Helen.

Tabatha Wethal (Eliminated 10-12)
Tabatha has worked as a journalist for a variety of publications for the last seven years, covering every controversial issue from legislation to mayonnaise. Hailing from Evansville, Wisconsin,Tabatha feels improv affords the creative brain a blank check to be cashed immediately, and hopes that her ability to spectate reality TV shows will give her an advantage in The Cut, which is good, because she could really use the prize money.
